  There should be a bypass made long time ago around this place. They are corrupt. Corruption is everywhere where money is. They all live off the money they extort in all kinds of ways from the beach goers. They fake road jams and fine unsuspecting drivers on multiple charges. They threaten you with other charges. Isn't that a criminal behavior? Most certainly. Nobody can touch them. They are always on the road in packs of several cars. Some create hazardous condition, the other one stays down the hill and waits for the boss' command to catch someone. I wish I could put ZERO here. Waiting for the 404 widening to be completed to avoid this place like plague.

  My nephew was racially profiled in this town last night by the easton police. My nephew gave a friend a ride home from work, after dropping his friend off he was followed by an officer for several blocks and later pulled over without any explanation as to why. The officer told him we will get why he was being pulled over later. My nephew was then was removed from the car while 5 police officers were on the scene and his persons searched while still not knowing why he was pulled over. Afraid for his life due to him being a 19 year old African American male he never resisted and complied even though he knew his rights were being violated. His car was also searched by police and a K9 which turned up nothing as well. My nephew received a warning for a violation listed as - OTHER -Stop, Stand, Park. Is this really the type of violation that requires this type of action and this many town resources?? My nephew is a full time college student and working part time to put himself through school. He works in Easton and contributes taxes to pay the salary of officer's that are supposed to protect his rights not violate them. #Another_black_man_ violated

  The Easton Police Department, located at 106 W Dover St, Easton, MD 21601, is like a large majority of police departments and is home to several police officers who believe they are above the law and a department that is constantly on it's feet to give out traffic ticketing. Great examples of these statements are their officers who are in the vehicles labeled with the numbers "104" and "121". 104 is a police officer who is an aggressive driver that is often driving above the speed limit and tailgating drivers from the general public and 121 is an officer that is often seen speaking on their phone while driving. Although this might seem "petty", the tickets that you can receive for these activities cost a large amount of money. One ticket given to a friend for sitting at a red light looking at their phone was for over $80. In turn, they are acting above the laws they enforce. Along with this, they are endangering the general public and refuse to fix that. Along with this, the police department parks cars a certain way in locations to trick people into parking the same way and receive a ticket for doing so. A prime example of this is the parking lot by the department and the library. There is a small sign that states you cannot back into parking spots and, yet, the police department makes sure to do so to fool people who are not observant, and have missed the sign, into parking the same way so they will receive a ticket. A ticketing officer was actually questioned about this and the individual questioned was laughed at and told "we would and could never ticket vehicles of our own". Another great example to show how this police department does not care about the general public is that there was a large group of their officers seen at the local pub, Washington Street Pub, and they were drinking above the acceptable amount of alcohol for driving and they did not have a designated driver. I wish the Easton Police Department the best and I hope, if they do really care about their community, that they will look to change how their officers and department works.

  The department deserves this rating because they enforce laws that they break. At 4:00 PM today, Officer Chris Westerfield was driving the police car 103 down South Washington street and was speaking on the telephone.
